History of the United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was established on 2 December 1971, marking the union of six Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah. On 10 February 1972, Ras Al Khaimah joined the Federation, completing the union of the seven Emirates.
